LLL of Austin South 1 Group

La Leche League meetings offer encouragement and support, as well as practical breastfeeding information to nursing mothers and pregnant women planning to breastfeed. Our meetings are informal discussions of breastfeeding related topics facilitated by trained, accredited, La Leche League Leaders.

Each mother is encouraged to take from La Leche League's philosophy what seems sensible and helpful to her.

All women who have an interest in breastfeeding are invited to begin a meeting series at any time. The ideal time to begin attending is during pregnancy because the information received at that time may benefit a mother when her baby is born, and to obtain a copy of our manual, THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING.

Series Meetings

In order to better serve our community but at the same time put our families first, we offer a variety of meetings. No two series are exactly alike, since we are all growing in our understanding of child development, mothering and family life. As we share our knowledge of mothering through breastfeeding, we can all learn and support each other during this important time in the lives of our families.

The series of meetings follows the course of breastfeeding:

#2 The Baby Arrives - The Family and the Breastfed Baby
#3 The Art of Breastfeeding and Overcoming Difficulties
#4 Nutrition and Weaning

Babies, Toddlers, and Children are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

The South 1 Group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at Christ's Workshop. We are located of South Congress.

Directions: If you are traveling down South Congress with the Capital in front of you, then you will turn right on East Monroe. It is a light, past the fire station on your right.

If you are traveling South Congress with the Capital behind you, you will turn left on East Monroe. There is a rather large A-frame tan church at the intersection.

Now that you are on East Monroe, go about 2 blocks. Christ's workshop is on the left. If you go around a bend an see a Montessori school on the right, you just passed it.

Parking is on the side of the building near the playground.
